Repair of the lock and control board of the INDESIT washing machine or how I saved 6000 rubles

Today, I will tell and show you how I fixed two serious malfunctions of my INDESIT washing machine, while spending a minimum of money (about 30 rubles).

The breakdown occurred during the holidays, when shops and service centers are closed. Therefore, I had to look for alternative solutions to fix the breakdown. The result of the search is that the washing machine works, 6,000 rubles were left in the pocket (where would they be attached now?)

However, let's take everything in order... Let's start with the first problem that fell on my head literally on the morning of December 31 of the past 20th year...

How to repair a washing machine door lock

First I will describe how it should be and what happened to my castle

When you close the door of the washing machine and select the desired washing mode, press the Start (Start) button, the automatic washing machine blocks the door lock and only after that the program starts. The blocking of the lock is accompanied by a clearly audible click and the inclusion of a light bulb with the image of the lock.

In my case, there was no click, the light did not light up and the wash did not start.

What did I do….

First, I removed the door lock, which was fastened with two screws.

And here is the castle itself.

Inside it is a contact driven by the heating of a small resistance.

The algorithm of work is as follows:

1. "Brains" apply voltage to the resistance (middle leg)
2. The resistance heated up and the contact plate went down.
3. The plate blocks the door opening mechanism (next photo)
4. The plate closes a contact that informs the "brains" that the door is securely closed.

And here is what the lock looks like on the electrical circuit of the washing machine:

In my case, voltage was applied to the middle contact, but the contact plate was not set in motion, and, accordingly, there was no feedback in the form of a closing contact, giving the brains the go-ahead to start the program.

The decision was taken at lightning speed: jumper. But... I don't know how the control board will behave if the contact is permanently closed. Therefore ... in parallel with the lock contact, I connected a regular toggle switch and brought it to the front panel:

The connection point of the toggle switch is indicated by two arrows in the photo above.

Having lost a little in aesthetics, I very quickly restored the machine to working capacity. True, now after starting the program, you need to remember to click the toggle switch up.

And yes ... yet ... now there is a danger that someone during washing will be able to freely open the door with a rotating drum and with all the ensuing circumstances.

So ... if there are small children in the house, such a scheme can only be considered temporary until you get a new lock for your washing machine (cost 1000 - 1500 rubles).

How to repair the control board of the washing machine INDESIT

The second problem is more serious. Although I eliminated it quickly and efficiently.

The power connector on the control board burned out. I already thought that I would have to part with 5000 rubles. (the minimum cost of such a fee on the Internet).

Morally, I was already ready to part with this amount, so in the end I decided to “collectively farm” a little with the old board. Suddenly, this problem did not pull the failure of other parts ...

And the scale of the accident is impressive ...

So, I found on one forum, a photo of the same board. I needed to see how the tracks were located on the "live" board.

I did not bother looking for the same connector. I bought the cheapest connectors. Their only drawback is that each wire will need to be connected individually ... and when connected, you can confuse places. And then BOOM!!!

Therefore, the connectors of the same name must be somehow marked or signed. I made it with colored tape.

And so, I compared my emergency board with a photo of a workable one, restored the tracks and soldered the wires of the connectors.

Each wire is marked with a different color of electrical tape. I will mark the corresponding wires on the washer cable with the same color .... so as not to confuse years through ...

OK it's all over Now. All connectors are in place. You can do a test run.
