From time to time, we arrange feasts in the fresh air. Agree - it's nice to dine outside in the summer, in the shade of a tree or a canopy.
And everything would be fine, but in windy weather, our tablecloth continually strives to fly away, wrap itself up.
Someone fastens the tablecloth with linen pegs, someone with ropes, and someone radically with nails.
And you can make a few homemade clamps, the design of which I will now tell you. The advantages of such clamps are obvious: easy to assemble and dismantle, simple design, does not interfere during the feast.
So, look at this photo. For this table, I made only 4 clips. This is enough so that the tablecloth (or oil) does not fly away from an empty table in any windy weather.
For reliable fixing of the tablecloth, four clips are enough. You need to place them in the corners of the table.
And here, in fact, is the lower part of the clamp design, hidden from the eyes.
The dimensions of the clamp must be selected independently, taking into account the thickness of your countertop. But even if you miscalculated a little, the spring (lower) tongue can always be bent in accordance with your realities.
For the manufacture of one clip, I needed 32 cm of stainless steel strips. Stripe width - 2 cm.
Below, I give the overall dimensions of the clamp, which is suitable for almost any table. The manufacturing process is so simple that I don’t see the need to post detailed photos of each fold.
Everything bends literally with hands, pointing the place of the future bend to any template. For example, I used a hammer handle.
Once you have made the first successful piece, use it as a template for making subsequent clamps.
Do not forget to process (round off) the sharp edges of the strip to avoid possible injury!
The manufacturing time of one clamp, together with the processing of sharp edges, is no more than 5 minutes.
Don't be discouraged if you can't get all the clips the same. Pay attention to the upper parts (located on top of the tablecloth) - they are the only ones in sight, so they should be the same .. Well, what is under the tabletop is not visible to anyone. The main thing is that the tablecloth is securely held!
Well done! Quite done. True, my wife came up with an easier one. In the corners, she gathers (below the corner) the tablecloth into a fold and grabs it with a clothespin. All.
This method is good for hard tablecloths, oilcloths, etc…
