How to increase chimney draft. An unusual invention.

I saw an interesting design from one of my friends. On the chimney, he made such wings - stabilizers. From the outside it looks like a rocket stuck in the roof.

I ask him:

What kind of rocket is that sticking out of your roof?

“You’re laughing in vain, this thing enhances the draft in the pipe well!”

- Come on! I didn't believe it.

And he told me that he came across some old Soviet magazine, something like "Modeler - Constructor" or "Young Technician". There was an article about a pioneer who suggested that his father, the head of the boiler house, make such a design. According to him, the thrust will increase so much that it will be possible to abandon the use of forced draft by the fan. The effect was achieved by changing the direction of the wind from horizontal to vertical. The story ended with someone being awarded something for this “ratsuha” (who doesn’t know, that’s what life hacks were called in the USSR :).

I didn’t see the magazine, but I wrote down the measurements for myself. I don’t know what these wings were called in the article, but they are very similar to rocket stabilizers, so I will continue to call them that way.

The number of stabilizers is either 4 or 8. Eight stabilizers work more efficiently, but a friend had 4 and says that he is satisfied, Material - sheet steel 2mm. Stabilizers at the top and at the bottom are attached to clamps that are tightened around the pipe.

I would add more fungus above the pipe so that the rain does not flood.
