If you really need a night vision device, a simple modification is not necessary to spend a lot of money on a factory one. If you are able to find all the items listed below and you have 1 hour of free time - try to assemble the simplest night vision device with your own hands!
To make a night vision device, you will need:
- to make or select a case in which all the elements listed below will be located;
– accumulators
- connector for charging the battery
- power on / off button
- smartphone or phone with a working camera
- infrared LEDs
So, the dimensions of the case should allow you to accommodate a smartphone and batteries. If there is no suitable case, you can make it ... yes, at least from cardboard!
Batteries are designed to power LEDs. In the proposed scheme, 3 batteries (4 Volt x 1 Ah) are used. The connection is serial. The result is a 12V battery.
Now you need to get hold of infrared LEDs. It is they who will be able to make the backlight in the spectrum invisible to our eyes, and the camera of your gadget will see this light and make a picture that we can see.
You can buy LEDs at a radio parts store, or you can ... if there are unnecessary / faulty control panels, remove them from them.
The current consumption of the LEDs is about 50 mA. Therefore, it is necessary to use additional resistances that will limit the current to this parameter. In this circuit, you will need 270 ohm resistors.
Having assembled this circuit, the LEDs should be fixed on some hard surface. Yes, even on cardboard! With the help of a thermostat.
Now you need to place the smartphone and close the block with LEDs with an improvised lid.
The principle of operation is as follows: Turn on the LEDs, turn on the smartphone, turn off the light and watch the picture on the screen.
Note! The lighting has not yet been turned off, but we are already seeing some kind of backlight. When the lighting is turned off completely, the objects on the table can be clearly seen.
