How to sew a thick stack of paper with a small stapler

Surely you have come across the situation when you need to staple a thick stack of documents with a stapler, but there is no suitable stapler size at hand. You try to somehow pierce with a small stapler, and the paper clips bend leaving only dents on the top sheet ...

Well... The problem is not so insoluble!

Let's do everything right now! Watch your hands :) No cheating!

The experiment will be carried out on 35 sheets of a regular notebook. Stapler - for 10x4 staples

We will need the following tools:

— stapler

- Stationery clip

- A large paper clip with a pointed end (and if there is an awl)

We fix the paper with a clerical clip so that the sheets do not move apart during work. You can get by with regular staples.

We are trying to break through the pack with a stapler in the place where we need it.

The paperclip can enter the solid paper, or it can simply bend. In my case, the paperclip pierced through the paper...

However, on the reverse side, the paper clips are not visible.

The purpose of this action is to get marks on the paper, where the paperclip should actually be located. Take the paperclip out of the paper and throw it in the trash can.

Now the awl is in motion! Point the awl at the marks in the paper and with rotational movements, drive the awl into the pack until the awl passes through the pack.

Carefully! Don't ruin the table! Place an old magazine under your pack.

And now, we have two through holes.

Now we take the stapler again and combine the exit point of the paper clip over the holes.

We press the stapler lever and ...

… and voila! Clip in place!!! And what is done on the reverse side?

And on the reverse side ... everything is as it should be! But taking into account the fact that the height of the “legs” of the paper clip is only 4 mm, the bends turned out to be small. However, the job is done!
