How to make a pass switch from a conventional switch

With two conventional single-gang switches, you can make one walk-through. The technology is applicable to almost any switches :)

Of course, it's easier to buy a couple of new walk-throughs. But if you have old, unnecessary ones lying around, or there is no way to buy a new checkpoint, then this technique is just for you!

Pass-through switches are used when it is necessary to ensure the control of luminaires (on / off) from 2 places remote from each other.

At the end of the article, there will be a link to a video of the same technique.

Disassemble the switch by bending the latches. We need to get to contacts.

Here are the two switches. Now you need to rearrange (add) the contact group from one switch to the second one. Contacts are easy to remove and mount.

Attention!!! The main condition is to place contacts, as in the photo below!!! The fixed contacts of the left and right groups must be on different sides of the switch!

Install the moving contact.

Now, don't forget the springs on the keys!!!

The springs need to be rearranged on one cover.

Close the switch cover. Put a jumper between the contacts of one side - this will be a common contact (as in the photo below). Two free terminals - left and right shoulder. Everything, the switch is ready to work.
